Ignited the spark from Wuhan
Spread throughout the world
Taken some hundred thousands of lives;
Neither detained by boundaries
Nor contained by the seas.
Your name is on everyone’s lips
Created panic, oh! COVID-19 pandemic.
Even the mightiest country
Kneeled down at your feet,
Helplessly showing rage of discredit.
A new set of code is developed:
Stay at home, stay safe,
Wash your hands time and again;
Wear masks, keep social distancing then
Cough and sneeze your elbow bent.
How dreadful!
You are either living or dead.
Corona virus, unprecedented you are!
Invisible, yet alarmingly contagious,
Proved nevertheless pernicious.
A war is waged
The world is fighting against;
Number is escalating every pulse
But there is no sign of decrement.
Atomic and nuclear weapons are of no use
Even radar can’t detect you;
Vaccine is a far reality, however
Panacea is a much awaited aspiration.
Didn’t spare the political head
Neither medical doctors and the nurse
Nor the security personnels.
One after the other deceased are laid,
There isn’t space for cremation
For the bodies which are dead.
Familiarized words sanitizers, isolation,
Social distancing and quarantine
Invited lockdown, food crisis
Confined human beings,
Doomed the economy everywhere.
Purified environment, decline pollution
The world is at stand still.
Perhaps old system is going to be altered
A new etiquette is to be set,
For healthier and prosperous world to get.
Day and night service being offered to us
Risking their lives;
To pay a mere tribute for them
Propelled even me to scribe.
