1500 stranded people to reach Dimapur today

DIMAPUR, May 21
Precautionary measures have been taken up in Dimapur as a special train carrying 1500 stranded people of Nagaland in Chennai will be arriving in Dimapur railway station on Friday, May 22. Sources said that the train is likely to reach by 1 pm. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, issued an order on Thursday afternoon on the “security and traffic protocol for transportation of returnees from Chennai”.
According to the order, the returnees will transported to Agri Expo reception area from Dimapur railway station for further necessary procedures. Nagaland police will render in escorting the returnees by buses.
Earlier on Wednesday, 273 stranded people arrived in Dimapur. Reports said that, out of which a total of 122 returnees arrived from New Delhi and Dibrugarh by train. In n addition, 129 people from Guwahati and 15 from Sikkim arrived by bus while 6 from Kolkata and 1 from Guwahati arrived by private vehicles. As per the control room of the Empowered Committee Dimapur, a total of 1672 stranded people from Nagaland have arrived till date.
