Total cases in Nagaland reach 4

DIMAPUR, May 26:  One more COVID-19 positive case was reported on Tuesday morning in Nagaland. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the State has gone up to 4.
It can be mentioned here that, earlier on Monday, three positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nagaland—two males in Dimapur and one female in Kohima.
With Monday's reports on COVID-19, Nagaland has lost its green zone status.
According to the Health Department, all the cases are “imported” ones. They  returned from outside the State recently. All the four were in quarantine centres when they were tested positive for COVID-19.
According to S Pangnyu Phom, contact tracing has been activated after the COVID-19 cases were reported in the State.
It can also be noted here that stranded people are returning to the State by trains and buses every day.
The first special train carrying over 1469 people, who were stranded in Chennai, reached Dimapur on May 22.
On Monday, a total of 426 stranded people had arrived in Dimapur by a special train from Haryana.
According to a State Government source, more and more stranded people will be arriving in the next few days time. The State Government is in hectic mode receiving the stranded people every day.
It can also be mentioned here that Nagaland’s first Biosafety Level (BSL)-3 lab for COVID-19 testing was inaugurated at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) on May 21. Prior to this development, samples from the state were taken to Assam or Manipur for COVID-19 testing.
Meanwhile, the BSL-2 lab in Dimapur for COVID-19 testing is still under construction at Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (CIHSR).
