Trains from Kerala, Gujarat bring back stranded folks

A special train from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station, Kerala ferrying 907 stranded residents of Manipur reached Jiribam Railway Station at 5.15 am today while another train from Bharuch, Gujarat arrived at Jiribam at 2 pm with 309 Manipuri people.
The returnees from Kerala included 26 from Ukhrul district, 37 from Noney district, 36 from Kangpokpi district, 47 from Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts, 19 from Chandel district, 58 from Imphal East and Kamjong districts, 60 from Senapati district, 75 from Thoubal district, 206 from Kakching district, 91 from Tamenglong district, 179 from Bishnupur district and 73 from Imphal West.
Altogether 29 State Transport Department buses were utilised for ferrying the 907 returnees to their respective districts.  
After the train from Gujarat arrived at Jiribam railway station, 229 passengers were taken to Thoubal district, 20 passengers to Bishnupur district, 39 to Kangpokpi, Senapati and Imphal East districts.
Authorities also made necessary arrangement for quarantining 33 passengers belonging to Tengnoupal, Kakching and Jiribam districts at Lal Pani, Jiribam. Altogether 11 State Transport Department buses were utilised for ferrying the returnees. At the Jiribam Railway Station, all the returnees from Kerala as well as Gujarat were screened by the authorities. The returnees boarded buses after undergoing necessary screening process and other mandatory procedures under the supervision of the Jiribam district administration. They would remain in isolation at community quarantine centres for 14 days.
