Maram Union applauds CM

IMPHAL, May 29: The Maram Union (MU) has lauded Chief Minister N Biren Singh for hosting the historic tribal Leaders' Meeting at Durbar Hall, CM Secretariat on May 27 and hearing the grievance of hills people.
A press release issued by MU said that the meeting was held to bridge the gap between hills and valley.
The Chief Minister had also distributed printed leaflets in every recognised tribal dialect with instructions of containment measures against COVID-19 that can be easily understood, it aid and added that a community Whatsapp group was also formed with tribal leaders and officials concerned as its members to address grievances of stranded citizens or intended returnees from outside the State.
A site to set up a cultural museum for Maram tribe has also been selected at Tumuyon Khullen, it added.
The Maram Union also extended appreciation to Ningthoujam Geoffrey, Secretary to CM and C Arthur, the Nodal Officer and Director TA & Hills for promptly addressing concerns of stranded members outside the State.
