Active cases in CCpur stands at 20

CCpur, May 28: As The Sangai Express had on Tuesday highlighted the slow pace of tests for Churachandpur which has reported the highest number of positive cases, the pace of test results has immediately improved with 253 samples coming negative on Wednesday while another 180 more came today. With the spike in test rates, positive cases too spiked as two cases returned positive, taking the district’s tally to 20 active cases.
A statement issued by the Covid-19 control room today said, an 18 year-old girl kept at Hill Model CQC, Singngat, whose sample was collected on May 22, and another 22 year-old female kept at Lanva High School CQC whose sample was collected on May 24 tested positive for COVID-19 today. Both are Chennai returnees and they are asymptomatic. Nevertheless, the duo have been shifted to JNIMS Isolation in a dedicated ambulance.
Churachandpur has till date collected over a thousand sample from different CQCs and IQCs located within the district with 151 more samples collected today alone.
As the pace of the test results has also seen considerable improvement in the past two days, the total results received at the time of filing this report stood at 492. With the first group of people who have arrived in the State completing their 14 days quarantine, coupled with negative results coming in hundreds of people have started leaving the quarantine facilities but they are instructed to strictly adhere to the mandatory home quarantine for another 14 days.
