IMPHAL, May 30: The State’s tally for COVID-19 positive cases has reached 62 as three more tested positive since last night till the time of filing this report.
With seven of the positive cases already recovered, the total number of COVID-19 active cases in the State as on Saturday is 55.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, a 19 year old girl of Kanglatongbi, Imphal West tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS last night.
Subsequently, the young lady has been taken into the COVID care facility of RIMS.
She returned to the State from Gujarat recently.
Further, a 44 year old woman and a 34 year old man who are residents of Churachandpur and Chandel respectively tested positive for COVID-19 at JNIMS today.
Whereas the 44 year old woman returned from Chennai, the 34 year old man came back from Mumbai recently.
They have been taken into the COVID care centre of JNIMS and their health conditions are said to be stable.
Subsequent upon confirmation of the 34 year old man as COVID-19 positive who was earlier quarantined at United College, Lambung, Chandel DC has sealed the college campus as a containment measure with immediate effect until  further notice.
On the other hand, 177 stranded people were brought back to the State from Delhi in an Air Asia flight today and 72 people left Imphal for Delhi in the same flight. An Indigo flight also brought back 104 people from Kolkata and 64 people stranded in Manipur left Imphal for Kolkata in the same Indigo flight.
All the people who arrived at Imphal by air have been taken to designated quarantine centres.
