Hmar Inpui, IMF appreciate CM

IMPHAL, May 31: An apex body of Hmar Tribe, Hmar Inpui and Indigenous Minorities Foundation (IMF) have expressed their profound appreciation to the Chief Minister N Biren Singh for inviting all tribal leaders to 'attend a historic and special meeting on May 27.'
In its press release, Hmar Inpui, on behalf of the Hmar people expressed gratitude to the CM for assuring to construct a museum and a Hmar Heritage House at Keibul Lamjao.
The vision and efforts will serve towards the emotional integration and welfare of the State citizens, it added.
Hmar Inpui thanked N Geoffrey, Secretary to CM and C Arthur, Director TA and Hills and Mayengbam Pramot for the support, coordination and continued engagement.
Meanwhile IMF, in a letter, said that the meeting was indeed a historic move by the Chief Minister to invite and interact with all tribal leaders over lunch.
The meeting has sent a strong message to every community in Manipur that the Government despise none and it is for all, said IMF, which is a non-profit organisation working for the welfare of the Koireng tribe.
"We would like to express our appreciation through various media for announcing a sum of Rs 10 lakh each for construction of museum where our old age traditional values, culture and history-related items will be preserved and protected.", it continued.
IMF also urged the Chief Minister to initiate interaction with all communities to deliberate on issues confronting the State on a monthly or bimonthly basis which will create an atmosphere of trust, mutual understanding and promote emotional integration and peaceful coexistence.
President and general secretary of Koireng Youth Organisation had attended the meeting, it added.
