AR, MPCC member, social worker distribute edibles

IMPHAL, May 31 : Assam Rifles, MPCC member and social worker distributed food items in Thoubal and Kakching districts, today. 
AR extends a helping hands
Thoubal Battalion of Keithelmanbi Sector, Assam Rifles under the aegis of  HQ  IGAR (South) distributed food items to the local populace of Khetri Leikai, Thoubal  on May 30.
The Civic Action Team of the Battalion provided rations and food items to over 70 families of the area, said a statement of IGAR (S).
As part of the assistance, rice, salt, refined oil, dal, milk, atta, sugar, and tea for approximately one-week sustenance were distributed, it said and added that the team handed over pre-packed packets containing all above-mentioned items to the locals.
Earlier, the Battalion had provided similar assistance to Breakthrough Mission India Drug Rehabilitation Center, Thoubal, it added.
Kakching
Member of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Naorem Kobit provided food items to different quarantine centres opened in Kakching district.
Naorem Kobit was accompanied by Congress Councillors of Kakching Municipal Council and different members of Kakching Block Congress Committee in visiting the quarantine centres.
On the other hand, social worker Riyajuddin Aribam, who is also the convenor of United Development Committee, Wabagai AC distributed face masks, hand gloves, soaps and edibles to four community quarantine centres opened in Wabagai, Kakching namely Madrassa Mazahirul Uloom, Irong; Composite Centre of Learning, Heibong Makhong;  Madrassa Imdadul Islam, Khelakhong and Merciful English School, Hangoon.
It may be mentioned that several groups, CSOs, social workers and political parties have been extending different kinds of help to public since the imposition of lockdown in late March 2020.
