Zeliangrong students extend gratitude

IMPHAL, May 31: The Zeliangrong student community of Shillong expressed their heartfelt gratitude to newly inducted Minister Awangbou Newmai, MLA Samuel Jendai and Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong Armstong Pame for arranging the evacuation of stranded students from Shillong on May 14”.
In a statement, the student body said that not only did they arrange the evacuation but they also met all the expenses including food on the way. “We also express our gratitude to  Namsinrei Panmei, Chairman, Tamenglong Autonomous District Council and his team of Members of District Council for ensuring that all necessities were met during the quarantine”, the student body added.
Mention may be made that the evacuation was arranged in collaboration with LCTC Covid-19, NSUS and ZSUS.
The newly inducted Minister is also arranging transportation for the returnees who have completed quarantine to be dropped to their respective villages. The transportation was also arranged by United Baptist Church (L) from Tamenglong to Tamei for the returnees from Chennai and Shillong.
“We also like to thank Chief Minister N Biren Singh for providing maximum help in bringing stranded people back to the State,” it also said.
Meanwhile, the union also congratulated Awangbou Newmai on being inducted as one of the Ministers in the BJP-led coalition Government. Newmai News Network
