Rice, dal lifting and distribution continues

Imphal, May 31 (DIPR) : In its effort to ensure that the people of the State are provided adequate PDS items especially rice and dal, the State Government continues lifting and distribution of rice and dal allocated for May and June 2020 in the State.
In continuing distribution till date in Imphal West, 17606.46 quintals of rice has been distributed to the beneficiaries of both AAY and PHH for the Assembly Constituencies of Thangmeiband, Uripok, Keishamthong, Yaiskul, Singjamei, Mayang Imphal, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa, Langthabal and Lamshang respectively.
A total of 204.01 quintals of dal was also lifted for Imphal West while 403.03 quintals of dal has been distributed in Uripok, Singjamei, Keishamthong and Lamshang Assembly Constituencies today.
With the lifting of 2,390 quintals of rice under NFSA in respect of Andro  Assembly Constituency in Imphal East today, lifting of rice under NFSA allocated for June has been completed for Khundrakpam, Thongju, Khurai, Lamlai and Andro Assembly Constituencies.
The State Government has been distributing PDS items in all the districts of Manipur to ensure none to suffer on account of non-availability of foodgrains on the backdrop of the outbreak of COVID-19 and the ongoing lockdown in the State.
