State Agriculture task force formed

Imphal, May 31: Following the meeting held on May 26 at the Chief Minister's Secretariat to curb the post-harvest losses of agriculture and horticulture crops and to realise the prices of commodity to the farmers, a task force for procurement of Agri-Horticulture products for value chain marketing and processing has been formed. Horticulture and Soil Conservation Director will be the Chairman of the task force while Project Director MOMA will be the Convenor. Other members of the task force are Director of Agriculture, nominee of Industries Association in MSME Task Force, CEO of Freshies Fresh, representatives from one hill district FPC and one valley district FPC.   The Committee will look after surplus produces of farmers  to avoid post-harvest losses, arrange logistics support and procurement for onward marketing and processing. The committee will also regularly meet from time to time, it informed.
