Shillong returnees laud Nemcha

KANGPOKPI, May 31: Returnees from Shillong has lauded Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen for her initiative in bringing back stranded people of Kangpokpi district.
The Minister sent two deluxe air conditioner buses to bring back 41 stranded people of Kangpokpi district yesterday and the same reached Kangpokpi DHQs this afternoon at around 2:30 pm.
Paumin, one of the returnees said, "As such care and love shown by Nemcha Kipgen is not less than a motherly love we all decided to call her ‘Mother of Kangpokpians.’
Apart from transporting us, she also, in collaboration with the COVID-19 Emergency Food Kiosk, an initiative of ADC Sadar Hills with the assistance of KTC, KWWO and KYU arranged a special food for us which was served when we reached the district screening centre at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi by the volunteers of KWWO and KYU, Paumin added.
He also thanked the volunteers of KWWO and KYU including the officials on duty at the district screening centre and Mao check post for their warm welcome and hospitality.
