Slow Loris, birds rescued; bird traps seized

Kpi/Tbl, May 31: A young endangered Slow Loris was rescued yesterday at Kangpokpi. The animal was rescued by one jhum cultivators from a  jungle and handed it over to DFO Kangpokpi.
According to Chinpilhing Kipgen, DFO, Kangpokpi Forest Division, the animal will be temporarily kept at PFA Thoubal shelter since it is too young to release in the wild.
On the other hand, staff /members of Joint Coordination Committee on Wildlife and Biodiversity, Range Office Thoubal, Yairipok BO and police personnel of Ningombam Outpost seized 35 bird traps and 23 birds from Moijing, Sangaiyumpham, Cherapur, Sabantongba and Ikop Pat, today.
