IMPHAL, Jul 20
In response to the July 19 statement of NISA president, All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has clarified that inter district player transfer are being conducted as per the AMFA calendar.
AMFA also maintained that the association had not fixed the date to commence the latest edition of Manipur State League yet in view of the COVID-19 outbreak and safety concerns surrounding it.
Saying that Manipur State League will not be held from August 1 and thus no notification has been made to the participating teams, AMFA said while adding that the lockdown has even affected the period of player transfer as it had to be done in the month of July while it was proposed to be held during the month of June.
AMFA is closely monitoring the situation and considering to start the tournament with strict obedience of safety measures as soon as the prevailing situation subsides and with due approval from the Government, it said.
AMFA is also considering to allow entry of only 10 key members for each club, it said while adding that related information will be intimidated to all participants when the time is right. AMFA also feels the plight of the clubs and the players and will stand for them, the statement continued while expressing that it is unfortunate and wrong for a team to bring up the internal matter in front of the media without consulting the parent body.
