The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) on Wednesday expelled its three senior leaders including the deputy commander in chief self-styled Lt Gen Niki Sumi for allegedly taking part in unauthorized meetings and financial anomalies.
Sumi was in NIA’s most wanted list and the agency had also announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for providing information about his whereabouts. He is also wanted in a terror funding case.
The other two leaders who were also expelled are self-styled Lt. Gen Nyemlang, staff officer-I, defence, Naga Army and Starson, kilonser of NSCN.
All the three of the expelled leaders were also the prime accused in the June 4, 2015 attack in Manipur in which 18 soldiers were killed.
In a media communiqué on Wednesday, the information and publicity wing of NSCN said, the three were found to be guilty of various ‘unauthorized’ activities against the outfit’s interest.
It said, “They have been held contempt against the party for -organising illegal meetings without authorization from the party, failing to report to Council Headquarters even after repeated callings, heavy misappropriation of party fund and encouraging and spreading divisive policies within the party.
“Today, due to the above reasons their expulsion becomes a necessity to save the party and our National struggle from further destruction. Hence, any party members conniving with the expelled officials will be automatically terminated from the party membership,” the release added.                Courtesy Time8
