IMPHAL, Jul 7: The Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF), after deliberating with all federating units/associations of all departments under State Government, had launched a cease work strike from July 6, demanding for the granting of its charter of demand by the Government.
MGSF in a statement said that it had repeatedly submitted various memoranda to the Government highlighting the demands of the employees, among which is, full implementation of the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission.
The Chief Secretary had signed the MoU for implementation of 7th Pay Commission on June 8, 2018 on behalf of the Government, with representatives of the employees and assured that it will be fully implemented from April 1, 2020.
However, it has failed to translate into action.
The Chief secretary has also issued an order which threatened the striking employees to invoke the provisions of Disaster Management Act, it stated.
MGSF suggested that the Government should settle the issue through dialogue and understanding with the representatives of the employees.
