CPI (M) Manipur State Council has stated that the party will extend solidarity and support Nationwide protests announced by All India Kisan Sabha and Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union and proposed to be held from July 10 to September 5 in three phases.
CPI in a statement, said that the party will always back protests called by bodies or organisations of farmers which account 70 pc of the Indian population and are feeding the entire population.
With the onset of the monsoon, the agricultural activities have started across many States including Manipur in full swing and the Agriculture Directorate and Minister concerned must be well aware of the need of the farmers, said CPI while lamenting the present situation regarding the distribution of fertilisers.
Being concerned with the plight of State farmers in procuring fertiliser, CPI said that it is very unfortunate to see 'politicization' even in the distribution of such essential commodities.
While many farmers are diligently working to ensure a good harvest and are in need of fertilisers, only few well connected people are getting the required supply of fertilizers with ease, alleged CPI and damanded the authorities concerned for smooth supply of the fertilisers to all the farmers.
The escalation in fuel price had also impacted the farmers badly, continued CPI and denounced the Modi-led Government for its inconsiderate and unjust policies.
It must be the Government's sole objective to  ensure welfare of all including the farmers, asserted CPI and further maintained the party will always stand up for the cause of the farmers.
