Body recovered

IMPHAL, Jul 8 : A team of Irilbung police have today recovered a the body of a man which was found lying at Iril river along Urup Naukal Chingmang area in Imphal East this morning.
The man has been identified as Md Tariq Ahmad (26), son of Abdul Majid of Sora Karanchi and his body has been handed over to family members after post-mortem at JNIMS hospital. The man was missing since July 3 morning, said a source.
Notably, the incident is the third case of death due to drowning in the past 7 days.
Thangjam Ongbi Memcha (65), wife of Brojen of Lalambung Naorekpam Leikai reportedly drowned at Lalambung Pukhri Achouba on July 5, two days after the body of Madina (60), wife of Md Jaheruddin was recovered from Thoubal river near her residence at Thoubal Moijing Wangmataba Konjin Leikai.
