Proposed stir off

IMPHAL, Jul 8 : The All Manipur College Teachers Association (AMCTA) yesterday convened an online emergency meeting where it was decided to call off their proposed cease work strike.
As per a statement of AMCTA, the executive committee representatives resolved to call off the proposed cease work strike scheduled from February 12 to demand 7th UGC Pay Scales. The cease work was suspended after CM assured to consider their grievances.
The meeting also resolved to urge the State Government to implement the 7th UGC Pay Scales and UGC Regulations 2018 in toto by adopting a Cabinet decision before reopening the colleges of the State.
The association also threatened to launch democratic movement when the colleges are reopened if the Government fails to implement the 7th UGC Pay Scales and UGC Regulations 2018 during the lock-out period.
However there is no movement currently in view of the COVID-19 outbreak, the statement added.
