‘No community spread’

DIMAPUR, Aug 13 : Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio stated on Thursday that there is no community transmission in the State till date, reports NNN. The Chief Minister informed this in the Assembly during the one-day sixth session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
According to Neiphiu Rio, history of contacts has been established in all cases of COVID-19 in the State. To drive home his point, he said that there is not a single case of COVID-19 in the State where source has not been traced and confirmed. “And hence the Health Department is of the view that there is no community transmission in Nagaland,” Rio added.
Meanwhile, Nagaland reported 50 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. According to Health Minister Pangnyu Phom, out of the total number of fresh cases, 40 are from Kohima, 5 from Zunheboto district, 4 from Mon district and 1 from Dimapur.
Out of the 40 cases of Kohima, 11 are security force personnel, 2 are returnees and 27 are without travel history but whose contacts have been traced.
Regarding Zunheboto and Mon districts, all the cases are from the security forces, while the lone Dimapur case is a traced contact.
Meanwhile, with the latest update on COVID-19, the State has recorded 3118 cases. Out of these cases, 2041 are active cases and 1113 are recovered cases.
