Nagaland tense at 2405 cases

DIMAPUR, Aug 4 : The COVID-19 situation in Nagaland is alarmingly grim as positive cases of the disease are increasing manifold in the past few days.
On Tuesday, the State reported 276 fresh cases of COVID-19. Out of the new cases, 187 are from Dimapur alone.
According to Health Minister Pangnyu Phom, 276 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Tuesday from 735 samples tested. 89 new cases are from Mon district, according to the Minister.
The Minister said, “Necessary contact tracing has been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation”.
The State’s tally has now reached 2405.
It has 1740 active cases and 657 recovered cases.
Meanwhile, Dimapur district administration, in an order, has cautioned any individual or organization against issuing unwarranted directives/statements obstructing entry of healthcare workers into their wards and colonies after performing their duties.
In an order the district administration said that “support and cooperation is required from all ends in the fight against COVID-19”. The order also cautioned that issuing such unwarranted directives/statements which infringe on individual rights and in violation of Government orders will be liable to be punished under Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
