Total lockdown lifted in Kohima

DIMAPUR, Aug 8:  The total lockdown has been lifted in Kohima since Saturday (August 8) after 14 days.
It can be mentioned that the total lockdown was promulgated in the State capital on July 25 after the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases reported from outside the quarantine centres.
Meanwhile, the administration said that “market opening days and timings, the terms and conditions stipulated will be the same as per the order issued on June 18”. The administration further notified that the “odd-even traffic rule as specified in the order dated July 15 will continue to remain in force”.
Meanwhile, Nagaland reported 31 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. After several days of reporting a high number of COVID-19 cases, the State reported a low 31 cases in the past 24 hours.
Out of the 31 cases of COVID-19 reported on Saturday, 10 are from Dimapur, 12 from Kohima, 3 cases from Wokha district and 6 cases from Zunheboto district.  Again, out of the fresh cases, 11 are from security forces and 4 are frontline workers. The tally in Nagaland has reached 2688.
