Combined team arrests vehicle lifters

IMPHAL, Sep 18: A combined team of Imphal East district commando, Narcotic Cell Imphal East and volunteers of Yumkhaibam Athletic Association (YADA) Khregao arrested two vehicle lifters from Thambalkhong junction, yesterday.
According to police, two persons coming in a suspicious manner in a Honda Dio without registration number plate at Thambalkhong area were detained by the police team.
On spot verification the detained persons were identified as Soibam Somen (33), S/o Duneshor and Thokchom Arunkumar (39), S/o (L) Ibochou, both from Heinoubok Makha Leikai.
They disclosed that they stole the Dio which was parked unattended at Langjing Makha Leikai Community Hall at around 3.30 pm of the previous day. They further disclosed that they came to Thambalkhong to sell the vehicle.
The two individuals were arrested by observing necessary formalities and handed over to Porompat Police Station.
