Armed PREPAK (PRO) insurgent apprehended

In a major breakthrough against insurgents group in Manipur, security forces apprehended one active cadre of the proscribed group PREPAK (PRO) near Maringthel in Thoubal district on September 17, said a statement issued by PRO of Assam Rifles.
Based on specific intelligence, security forces alongwith Police launched an operation and apprehended the individual. The troops also recovered one 9 mm Pistol and five rounds of ammunition from the insurgent.
The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Andro Police Station for further investigation.
