NSCN (IM) rejects media report on Muivah

GUWAHATI, Sep 19
The NSCN (IM) has rejected the “manipulative manner of media report” targeting its general secretary Th Muivah to question his sincerity and commitment.
It also condemned the Indian intelligence agencies for allegedly connecting Muivah to the Chinese factor to question his integrity.
In a release, the ministry of information and publicity of the outfit said it is wrong on the part of the media to build “ridiculous conjecture” that the NSCN members are not of one mind.
It said all the members of the NSCN involved in the peace talks cannot be made to stay in one location in Delhi for accommodation convenience.
“We condemn such a baseless allegation which is intended to send confusing signal to the outside world,” the NSCN stated.
The NSCN said there arose wild media speculation with vested interests involved as the Indo-Naga political talks gained momentum and at the threshold of signing the final deal.
According to the outfit, more than 23 years of Indo-Naga talks have been guided by mutual faith and respect and added that it is on this principle that the talks have reached this far.
It said it is unfortunate that certain elements are at work to sow seeds of suspicion and undo the hard-earned achievement.
“We believe this is the handiwork of suspicious mindset emanating from panic analysis of Indo-Naga political talks led by NSCN talk team with general secretary Th Muivah as the chief negotiator,” the statement said.
It said for building a lasting peace the Government of India and NSCN need complete faith on each other without giving any room for doubt and other unfounded intelligence agencies' wild analysis and baseless calculations.
No sacrifice comes too big for the Naga people to pave the way for the final settlement that is honourable and acceptable, the NSCN added.
It said, “But for all purpose this is not the right time to throw in unhealthy opinions with the ulterior motive to fracture the hard earned peace process when the propitious moment is round the corner.”         NE Now
