CCpur, Sep 19 : Work to set up the first medical college at Churachandpur is all set to start sometime next month, said Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayenta Kumar today.
The medical college will come up near Mata village on a 23 acre of land. It will be constructed at the cost of Rs 329 crore.
Visiting the site along with the Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Vumlunmang Vualnam and others, the Minister said work for starting the construction is planned for sometime next month.
He also claimed that Rs 263 crore out of the total project cost of Rs 329 crore have already been released.
The Government is planning to start the construction as soon as possible as it is keen on completing the same as early as possible. No completion date has been fixed though.
According to the CMO Churachandpur Dr VC Pau Tonsing, the new medical college will be named - Hills Institute of Medical Sciences.
