India sees nearly 70,000 new cases

After seeing around 80,000 coronavirus cases daily for the past few days, there has been a slight decline in the daily records.
On Tuesday morning, the Government said India has seen 69,921 new corona-virus cases, which took the country’s COVID-19 tally to 36,91,167.
Apart from the nearly 70,000 new coronavirus cases, India has also recorded 819 deaths, taking the death toll to 65,288.
Among the 36,91,167 total cases, there are 7,85,996 active coronavirus cases, 28,39,883 cured and discharged cases and 65,288 deaths in total, said the health ministry.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said, the total number of samples that have been tested up to August 31 stands at 4,33,24,834, including 10,16,920 samples tested on Monday.
Delhi has recorded nearly 1.8 lakh coronavirus cases while the death toll is over 4,400. Delhi will start the third sero survey from September 1 with a sample size of 17,000 people. The second sero survey result that came in last month showed about 29% of the population in Delhi have developed coronavirus antibodies.
Meanwhile, Unlock 4 starts from Tuesday with more relaxations being brought in across the country. The Centre has allowed bars to reopen from today while Metro train services have also been allowed to restart from September 7.
However, schools, colleges and other educational and coaching institutions will remain closed for students till September 30, with some relaxations for students of classes 9 to 12. India Today
