FCI, ZO (NW) celebrates Poshan Maah, 2020

IMPHAL, Sep 20: In celebration of the 3rd Rashtriya Poshan Maah, The Food Corporation of India has undertaken a number of events and activities in the States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalya, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland and Manipur.
The Poshan Maah is celebrated throughout the month of September across the Nation to address malnutrition amongst young children and to ensure health and nutrition for everyone.
The Poshan Maah, 2020 kickstarted at the FCI, ZO (NE) with an inaugural speech delivered by MK Gogoi, Executive Director (NE). He also flagged off the week-long plantation drive of locally available green leafy vegetables across the various FCI units in NE States.
Officers of the region have been actively participating in the drive, said FCI in a statement and added that various plants like lemon, curry plant and spinach were featured in the drive. Alongside, FCI Zonal Office has been promoting local food products and culinary habits of NE India on social media so that it can be made known across the country, it said.
The basic objective of the celebration is to make people aware of the benefits of a healthy life and the means in which people could inculcate daily nutritional habits in their lives.
