Manipur continues to log sub 50 cases

IMPHAL, Jan 13: Even as the State readies for the launch of the  vaccination drive on January 16, the number of fresh COVID-19 infections continue to remain low with zero death in the last 24 hours.
With 27,935 persons recovered from COVID-19, the State has 469 active cases while the total number of positive cases has reached 28,769. The number of deaths remains 365.
44 persons including 41 civilians and 3 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) tested positive for coronavirus. They tested positive at Churachandpur (11), RIMS (10), Raj Medicity (8), JNIMS (7), Shija Hospital (3), Escent Diagnostics (1), CMC (1), Advance Hospital (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (1), said a report from the Government COVID-19 Common Control Room issued by Additional Director, Health, Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Meanwhile, the 41 civilians hail from Churachandpur (13), Imphal West (10), Imphal East (6), Thoubal (4), Kakching (2), Senapati (2), Chandel (1), Kamjong (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Noney (1). All necessary precautionary and preventive measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said the report.
On the other hand, 56 persons have recovered from COVID-19. While 49 of them recovered while under home isolation, the remaining have been discharged from Covid care centres in Bishnupur (5) and JNIMS (2).
The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,769 including 25,368 civilians and 3,401 Central security personnel.
The number of recovered cases is 27,935 including 24,567 civilians and 3,368 Central Security Personnel.
The number of active cases is 469 including 440 civilians and 29 security personnel. The recovery rate stands at 97.10 percent.
