WVA Annual Sports Meet Bunghring YC, Berukhudam YC, Unopat FC advance in men's football

CHANDEL, Jan 13 : Bunghring Youth Club, Berukhudam Youth Club and Unopat FC progressed into the last 8 staged of the men's football competition in the 54th Western Valley Area Annual Sports Meet which is underway since yesterday at Thungcheng village playground.
Berukhudam Youth Club thrashed Thungcheng Defenders 7-1 riding on four goals by Bishorjit (20', 60', 63', 80') and singles from St Thumtha (30), Hl Degambar (75') and Hl Ningam (86') to earn the last 8 spot today. The lone goal for the Thungcheng side was scored by Bd Thumsing in the 50th minute.
Meanwhile in the second match of the day, St Royngam impressed all by scoring 5 goals alone (1', 9', 60', 85', 90') to help Unopat FC seal a 6-1 win over Unopat Youngsters. Wng Ningwarngam scored the other goal for the winning side in the 70th minute as St Longring scored the consolation goal for Unopat Youngsters in the 80th minute.
Earlier in the day, Bunghring Youth Club cruised to a 7-4 victory against Khambathel-A to secure the last 8 round ticket.
Nl Kennison (21', 51'), Chavan (22', 35', 50'), Nl Wilpelngam (5') and Bs Everjoy (60') were the scorers for the Bungring YC while Khampa (40'), Nl Arjun (70') and Rd Mowarson (21') did the scoring for the losing side.
Meanwhile in the women's volleyball event, Thungcheng-A, Unopat-C and Khambathel-A secured wins to earn next round slots.
Thungcheng-A beat Unopat-B in the first match as Unopat-C outlasted Khambathel-B in the second match before Khambathel-A saw off Beru Anthi in the third and the last match of the day.
