IMPHAL, Jan 14: Chief Minister N Biren and some of his Cabinet Ministers would visit Kamjong by helicopter tomorrow.
The Cabinet Ministers who are likely to visit Kamjong together with the Chief Minister are Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar, Water Resources and YAS Minister Letpao Haokip, Works and RD&PR Minister Th Biswajit and CAF&PD Minister Th Satyabrata.
They would take off from Kangla at 9.50 am.
In addition to the Cabinet Ministers, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister N Geoffrey and SI (CISF) Deepak Kumar Rana may also accompany the Chief Minister, sources informed.
The Chief Minister and his team would inaugurate completed projects during their visit to Kamjong and review incomplete projects.
They would also lay foundation stones for some new projects which would be taken up in Kamjong district.
Ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit, Phungyar AC MLA K Leishiyo went to Kamjong today to oversee the preparatory works being done there.
Notably, Kamjong-Kongkan Thana Road which extends to the Indo-Myanmar border, NH-102A and several PMGSY roads are being constructed in Kamjong district.
In addition, women’s market, Sadbhavna Mandap and mini-secretariat are being constructed.
Plans are also afoot to construct a residential model school and a girls’ hostel at Kamjong.
Further, finishing touches are being given to over 100 houses constructed anew at Chassad after they were destroyed by a devastating inferno last year.
N Biren may hand over the newly constructed houses to the villagers tomorrow.
