24 test positive, 34 discharged

IMPHAL, Jan 15: Altogether 24 persons were found infected by COVID-19 while 34 persons recovered from the viral infection during the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The fresh positive cases were detected at RIMS, JNIMS, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, Escent Diagnostics, Nazareth Hospital, Kakching, Senapati, Chura-chandpur, Noney and Tamenglong.
The newly infected people are residents of Imphal West (5), Imphal East (4), Kakching (4), Churachandpur (6), Senapati (1), Noney (2) and Tamenglong (2).
On the other hand, 34 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (3), home isolation (24), JNIMS (2), CCC Lamboi  Khongnangkhong (1), Shija Hospital (3) and Kakching (1).    
With no report of COVID-19 related death during the last 24 hours, the death toll stands at 365.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,811 (general population 25,410 and Central security personnel 3,401).
This figure includes 436 active cases (general population 412 and Central security personnel 24) and 28,010 discharged cases (general population 24,637 and Central security personnel 3,373).
The recovery rate as on Friday is 97.21 per cent.
Further all the eight travellers from the UK who arrived in the State on January 9 and discharged from Hotel Marriot Aerocity (institutional quarantine) on January 14 have been asked to contact the COVID-19 Common Control Room or the respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
