CMO volunteers for first shot in Ukl

Ukhrul,  Jan 15 : Ukhrul district hospital is all set for launching of Covid-19 vaccination programme  in the district with CMO Dr Kapangring set to be the first person in the district to receive the Covid-19 vaccine/Covishield  manufactured by Serum Institute of India.
Dr.  Kapangring said he volunteered himself to take the first shot of Covid-19 vaccine amongst the people of Ukhrul district in order to dispel apprehension and ease the mind of the people. This can help ensure a successful vaccination drive in the district, he observed.
He also said that a list for 100 persons has been prepared for tomorrow's day long vaccination programme to be held at the district hospital.
DPM, Ukhrul Ramayo Chiphang will be the second person to get the Covishield and he will be  followed by PO, doctors and others on the launching day of Covid-19 vaccination programme for Ukhrul district.
According to a source from district hospital around 99 vials of vaccine have been brought from Imphal for vaccinating 990 persons in the  first phase of mass vaccination drive. It may be mentioned that MLAs Alfred Arthur Kanngam and Khashim Vashum will be attending the launching ceremony of Covid-19 vaccination  programme to be held at District Hospital,  Hungpung Ukhrul.
