Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament-2021 Ward No 7 thrash Ward No 11 (A) in main football

KANGPOKPI, Jan 18 : Ward No 7 registered its second win in the ongoing 17th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2021 after defeating Ward No 11(A) today in the main football while Ward No 12 were held by Ward No 13 in the same category.
Doubles from John (14', 16') and Samu (40', 58') gave Ward No 7 an easy 4-0 win over Ward No 11(A) in today's first match.
In another match of the main football played in the third ground, Ward No 12 who started their campaign on a winning note were held to a 2-2 draw by Ward No 13. Lunkhogin (25') and Lamgou (49') scored for Ward No 13 while Lalginmang (29') and Satminlal (39') scored for Ward No 12.
In the veteran football, Ward No 1 opened its account with an easy 2-0 win over Ward No 4. Len@Kaptan's dazzling performance earned Ward No 1 numerous chances to score in the first half of this match before Paaji finally found the net in the 20th minute to give the lead.
Despite Ward No 4 efforts to come back into the game in the second half, the game went in favour of Ward No 1 as Seiboilal brilliantly converted a penalty kick in the 37th minute following a serious foul upon Ward No 1's veteran player Momo@Tonghen in the penalty area by a Ward No 4 defender.
In the last match of the veteran football today, Ward No 9 was awarded a walk over as the opponent Ward No 13 turned up without required strength or number of players.
Tomorrow, in the main football category, Ward No 2 will play Ward No 11(B) in the first match while Ward No 8 will play Ward No 14 in the third match.
In the veteran football category, Ward No 2 will play Ward No 3 in the second match while Ward No 8 will play Ward No 10 in the fourth match.
Ward No 10 will play Ward No 12 in the opening match of Under-15 football competition tomorrow at 8 am.
