Seriously, what are we waiting for?

“There is enough on earth for everybody’s needs
But not for everybody’s greed”.
Mahatma Gandhi once quoted.
Blinded and deafened by our greedy and thoughtless behaviours
All of us enraged Mother Nature.
“OH! WHAT HAVE WE DONE?”
The whole ecosystem is messed up.
Glaciers of the Great Himalayas are melting.
Sea level rising and coral reefs are bleaching
Summer vacation at Goa,
Will only be dreams for our children.
The mangrove forests are fast disappearing.
What will protect you from high sea waves if they are gone ?
DEFORESTATION ! FOREST FIRE!  DESERTIFICATION!
Many colourful birds and butterflies
They might only appear in picture books of our children.
FOREST ENCROACHMENT!  BIODIVERSITY LOSS!
And what not, putting life at the riskiest point
COVID 19 PANDEMIC! WILDLIFE EXTINCTION!
Tropical cyclones are uprooting trees and infrastructures.
Incessant rains are flooding houses and roads.
Drought and pests are destroying our crops.
ARE THESE NOT ENOUGH TO WAKE US UP?
WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?
Let’s come out from our bed of ignorance.
It’s not the time for our hands in pocket.
Take a shovel and plant trees.
Protect forest and respect wildlife.
Harvest rainwater, value every single drop.
Say goodbye to your fertilizers and pesticides.
Make friends with organic farming methods.
Close the old chapters of coal and fossil fuels
And turn to renewable and green energy.
“LET’S US JOINTLY PLEDGE TO MAKE MOTHER NATURE HAPPY”
Mother Nature will surely smile again.
