Shillong, Oct 10: Meghalaya recorded four more COVID-19 deaths today taking the number of fatalities in the State to 1,421, reports NNN.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, two deaths each were reported from East Khasi Hills district and West Khasi Hills district.
Dr War said that the State has also detected 59 new COVID-19 cases. These include 34 in East Khasi Hills, 10 West Jaintia Hills, 8 West Khasi Hills, 6 Ri Bhoi and 1 North Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 126 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 61 are from East Khasi Hills, 40 West Khasi Hills, 17 West Jaintia Hills and 1 each in North Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
So far, a total of 82,423 COVID-19 cases have been detected in the state out of which 1,152 are active cases, 79850 recovered while there have been 1,421 deaths.
With 621 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 303 cases and West Jaintia Hills 115.
There are 48 in Ri Bhoi, 19 South West Khasi Hills, 19 West Garo Hills, 13 East Garo Hills, 8 East Jaintia Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills, 2 North Garo Hills and 2 South Garo Hills.
