Basic hockey training for girls kicks off at Chandel

CHANDEL, Oct 13 : The Chandel District Hockey Association (CDHA) in collaboration with Manipur Hockey kick-started "Basic Hockey Training for Girls" at Maha Union Government Higher Secondary ground today.
The inaugural function of the training programme was attended by Hockey India president, Gyanendro Ningombam as special guest.
Olympian Ksh Thoiba; CEO of Hockey Manipur, L Basanta; assistant secretary, Ksh Shantakumar; technical director Bala Singh; executive member, Bandhan; ex-Member of Autonomous District Council Chandel, Sh Manglem Monsang; DSA Chandel president, Ts Chamna Anal; chief of Modi village, KL John; CO of 18 Assam Rifles, Col Ajit Khatri; Chandel District Hockey Association president, Ng Gilbert; Secretary Th Joyshing and others were also present during the function.
As a part of the function, Hockey Manipur handed over hockey sticks, balls and other kits to the district association.
In all, 63 girls from across the district will be receiving training under NIS  Hockey Coach Nepolean.
