Thangmeiband AC should become a beacon of true democracy: H Nutanchandra

IMPHAL, Oct 21: Former Corporator of Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) Hijam Nutanchandra called for people's effort to ensure that Thangmeiband AC becomes an exemplary AC in comparison to other ACs with regard to the upcoming 12th Assembly election.
The above statement was made by H Nutanchandra, the intending candidate from Thangmeiband AC in the upcoming Assembly election at an event conducted yesterday to inaugurate the newly constructed sheds for Naharol Yaipha Thousil Kanglup (NYTK) and Khoirom Meinam Women Welfare Association at Thangmeiband.
The upcoming election ought to be conducted with as little monetary expenses as possible coupled with a limitation on election related festivities and any other unsavoury incidents with the help of the public, he added. He also expressed his desire to position Thangmeiband AC as a beacon of true democracy that will serve as a model to be slowly emulated throughout the whole of Manipur.
He further informed the gathering that he had contributed money out of his own pocket in addition to the sum sanctioned for the construction of sheds from the first instalment of 15th Finance Commission 2019-2020.
Hijam Nutanchandra stated that as a Corporator of IMC his job was to focus on the progress and development of his own  ward. But now he wants to spread his developmental efforts throughout Thangmeiband AC, claiming that this is the reason he is contesting in the upcoming election.
He further pledged to work towards fulfilling the needs of the people, while working with the people and bring about a positive change. It is worth mentioning that the event was attended by Hijam Ghanashyam, president NYTK and former president Hodam Dori who attended as presidium member.
