NPF looks to hike tally in 2022 election

Imphal, Oct 20 : The Naga People's Front (NPF) is hopeful of winning more seats in the forthcoming Assembly election, which is due in early part of  2022.
Addressing a press conference held at Classic Hotel today, secretary general of NPF central Achumbemo Kikon claimed that hills and valley relationship has improved manifold after NPF supported the BJP led Government apart from providing political stability.
On the query of pre-poll alliance, Achumbemo Kikon informed that any such political decisions will be taken from its central office at Kohima.
"The question of alliance or continuing to support the present coalition partners or political parties in the coming Assembly elections or after will be decided from Central Headquarters", he stated.
The NPF leader also stressed on the need to resolve the ongoing Indo-Naga political issue.
During his meeting with party leaders, he called upon the NPF workers to beef up preparation for the upcoming elections.
It may be noted that Achumbemo Kikon who visited Imphal met NPF State unit leaders and party legislators including Forest Minister Awangbow Newmai, PHED Minister Losii Dikho, HAC Chairman Leishiyo and MLA Khasim Vashum.
The surprise visit comes as part of preparation for the forthcoming Manipur Assembly election which is slated to be held early next year.
