MPDF congratulates L Ichal Leima

IMPHAL, Oct 21: Manipur People's Democratic Front (MPDF) has expressed joy upon learning that Dalit Sahitya Academy, India has conferred the prestigious Dr BR Ambedkar National Award, 2021 to Laishram Ichal Leima from Sabunkhok Mayai Leikai, Imphal East on September 28.
L Ichal has been bestowed this award in the field of Handloom & Handicrafts for her extensive knowledge and talent as well as for providing a means of livelihood to many struggling women through her craft, a press release issued today by MDPF stated.
MDPF has also expressed their gratitude towards Dalit Sahitya Academy, India for recognizing L Ichal Leima's talent and contribution.
It may be noted that aside from being a valuable contributor in the field of Handloom & Handicrafts, L Ichal Leima is also a human rights activist.
