AMWJU election

IMPHAL, Oct 21 : Returning Officer of All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) election, Thokchom Ibohal has appealed to everyone to ensure that all COVID-19 related protocols are observed during the election process.
The election is slated to be held on October 23.
Speaking to the media during a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Thokchom Ibohal urged all the journalists to set an example by observing all the SOPs during the election.
Wangkhemcha Shamjai of Kangleipakki Meira and Bijoy Kakchingtabam of Poknapham will be contesting for the post of AMWJU president.
Candidates that will be contesting for standing committee membership are Athokpam Jiten Singh (The Sangai Express); Laishram Pritam (Liklam Monthly Journal); Longjam Arishrona Devi (The People's Chronicle); Khagokpam Nabakumar Singh (TOM TV); Leimapokpam Shanjitkumar @ Bhakta Singh (Eikhoigi Panthung); Wahengbam Bikram Meetei (Ichel Express); Ayekpam Birjit Meetei (Kangla Pao); Ningombam Sanajaoba Singh (Paojel Daily); Achom Binod (ISTV).
The election will be held on October 23 from 8 am and will continue till 2 pm. Vote counting will start at 3 pm and the result  will be announced on the same day, Thokchom Ibohal added.
