KANGPOKPI, Oct 23: The Christian Revival Youth Department of Christian Revival Church Kangpokpi celebrated its Silver Jubilee on Saturday in the presence of local MLA Nemcha Kipgen and 143 Bn CRPF Commanding Officer, Lamkam Lhoujem at the Church campus.
Kangpokpi MLA, Nemcha Kipgen released a Souvenir published to commemorate the Silver Jubilee celebration and Rev Seilun, general secretary Christian Revival Church India dedicated it while pastor Amos Seigoulen, M Div Pastor Manipur Gamkai dedicated the Jubilee Monolith.
The dignitaries and Church leaders, along with local CSO leaders also rang the traditional gong 'Dahpi' twenty-five times to mark the Silver Jubilee before a condolence service led by William, chairman Christian Revival Youth Department.
Established in 1996, the founding chairman of Christian Revival Youth Development, Sehjahao, its pioneer Henkholam, vice-chairperson Lamneilhing and Lamneithem spoke on the history and genesis of the youth department of CRC.
Earlier, Rev Seilun had hoisted the Jubilee flag on Friday and inaugurated the Jubilee Hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Nemcha Kipgen urged the people to stop the illegal practice of poppy cultivation and exhorted them to embark on various other means for their livelihood, continue to expound the ideas and mindset of living as per God's will and eschew from indulging in hazardous activities.
She stated that as the Church has a big role to play in shaping society towards a clean and righteous path, the youth department of the Church has a similar role as youth are the future pillar of the Nation.
She encouraged the Christian Revival Youth Department of Christian Revival Church to be a torchbearer and an ambassador of a righteous society.
The MLA also stressed on the importance of land and its preservation, as people would not be able to live peacefully when their land is not peaceful while adding that the people especially the youth must be aware and understand that the Government has protected the land with appropriate Constitutional right and article and that they must know how to preserve and protect it.
Lamkam Lhoujem also spoke on the monumental role of the youth in the society and the Church while exhorting the Christian Revival Youth Department to work with commitment and dedication towards God's kingdom.
Pastor Amos Seigoulen exhorted the youth based on Gospel Corinth as to how they should overcome earthly difficulties and hardships and said, "thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere, for we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing."
Presentation to the former leaders of Christian Revival Youth Department led by Satgoumang, secretary Jubilee Committee and appreciations marked the occasion while various Church choirs enthralled the crowd with their melodious songs.
Besides, Jubilee musical nite will be conducted in the evening session with various prominent Gospel artistes at the Church campus.
