IMPHAL, Oct 23 : After a spell of some time, the number of new COVID-19 cases has crossed the three digits mark again with 122 cases and zero fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
The last time Manipur saw new cases in the three figure mark was on October 17 with 104.
Imphal West had the highest number of new positive cases with 54 followed by Imphal East with 43, Ukhrul and Kamjong 6 each, Kakching 5, Chandel 4, Bishnupur 2 and Thoubal and Kangpokpi had 1 each. The number of active cases in the State now stands at 961 including 19 CAPF personnel.
Meanwhile, the remaining seven districts, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal reported no cases in the last 24 hours as per a press communique issued by Dr Khoirom Shasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director and spokesperson, Health Department.
The TPR of the State now stands at 5.9% as 122 samples tested positive while testing 2075 samples. Kamjong district had the highest TPR with 21.4% as 6 out of 28 samples tested positive for COVID-19. TPR of Chandel stands at 10 (4 out of 40 samples); Imphal East at 9.4 (43 out of 457 samples); Imphal West at 8.2 (54 out of 660 samples) and Ukhrul at 7.1 (6 out of 85 samples).
Recovery
During the last 24 hours 67 persons including 15 from home isolation, 14 from JNIMS and 38 from CCCs were discharged.
The cumulative number of recovered cases in the State is 1,20,361 (1,16,062 general population and 4,299 Central Security Personnel).
Vaccination
A total of 11,979 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were also administered at different vaccination centres spread across the State. With this Jiribam, Imphal West and Imphal East continue to top the list of districts with the most number of individuals who are vaccinated with both the doses of the vaccine with 55.31%, 49.29% and 41.36% of the total eligible population of the districts respectively.
Senapati with 10.05%, Kamjong 12.28% and Tamenglong with 14.41% are the districts with the lowest vaccination rate as per the statement from the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The State has vaccinated 64.02% of the eligible population with the first dose and 32.81% have received both the doses.
