Manipur bag 8 medals including two gold at Senior Archery Nationals

IMPHAL, Oct 3 : State archers have secured 8 medals including two gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze for Manipur at the 40th NTPC (Men and Women) National Archery Championship being organised under the auspices of Archery Association of India at Jamshedpur since October 1.
Sapam Robert shot 330 points out of the total 360 to earn Manipur a gold medal in the men's 50 m Indian round event while the team of Moirangthem Baby Devi, Wangkhem Malesori Devi, Okram Naobi Chanu and Longjam Tomthinganbi fetched 4 (28*) points to win women's team event gold.
In the women's 50 m event, Okram Naobi Chanu bagged a silver medal with a total score of 314 points and Moirangthem Baby finished third in the same event to bag a bronze with 313 points in her name.
Moirangthem Baby went on to win another bronze by shooting 324 points in the 30 m event.
Okram Naobi Chanu also earned Manipur a bronze medal in the women's individual elimination round finishing third with 6 points.
Mutum Chingkhei Meitei finished third in the men's elimination round event with a total of 7 points to add another bronze medal to State's tally.
The State men's team comprising Sapam Robert Singh, Mutum Chingkhei Meitei, Chingakham Nelson Singh and Huidrom Bijendranath Singh also secured 6 points in the team event to settle for a bronze medal.
