N Kayisii inaugurates 6th Mareiri Open Tournament

Senapati,  Oct 7:  Tadubi AC MLA & former Minister N Kayisii inaugurated the 6th Mareiri Open Tournament at Maopungdung today.
The tournament organised by Maopungdong Youth Club will continue till October 10. The tournament features 6-a side men's and women's volleyball events, 3-a side men's volleyball and penalty shoot out competitions. Speaking at the occasion N Kayisii stressed on the importance of sportsmanship and discipline. He also spoke on the opportunities of sportsmen and  their importance in present day world.
He stated that, games and sports is now one of the biggest industry and sportspersons are among the richest people today.
With discipline, sportsmanship and perseverance the athletes can also excel at the State, National and even international level events, he said. Marikho O' Lirüna, president, Mao Students' Union was the guest of honour at the inaugural program.
Altogether, 32 teams for 6-a side men's volleyball, 24 teams for 3-a side men's volleyball and 16 women teams from Senapati district are participating in the tournament.
