Nagaland Governor condemns Manipur ambush that killed Naga soldier, 6 others

Nagaland Governor Jagdish Mukhi on Sunday condemned the ambush by militants on the convoy of the 46 Assam Rifles at Sialsi village under Churachandpur district in Manipur on November that killed Naga soldier Rfn Khatnei Konyak and six others.
“I am extremely shocked and saddened,” the governor said, further adding “I strongly condemn the actions of the perpetrators, the inhuman and cowardly attack and killing of the Assam Rifles personnel including woman and child deserves the highest condemnation.”
Mukhi, who is also the governor of Assam said, “When every peace loving citizen is taking an active part in building a peaceful environment in the country specially in our North East India, those perpetrators have no place in our society and justice will be served immediately.”
The governor said that Konyak had served the country and made the supreme sacrifice for our nation. “Having such a courageous and fearless soldier is an honor for any country.  In his demise, India has lost a brave and courageous son and soldier. I on behalf of our countrymen and women including the people of Nagaland and my own behalf, convey our heartfelt condolences,” he added. East Mojo
