Manipur romp 4-0 past Meghalaya in Senior Women's Football C'ship

IMPHAL, Nov 28 : Manipur kicked off their Group (A) campaign in the 26th Hero Senior Women's Football Championship with an emphatic 4-0 win over Meghalaya today.
Both Manipur and Meghalaya started the game cautiously at Municipal Stadium, Kuthuparamba in Kerala but Manipur made the most of the chances in the added time of the first half to enter into the halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Roja (45'+1') was the first to find the back of the net before Mandakini (45'+2') had her way to beat the Meghalaya keeper for the second goal.
Buoyed by the two goals, Manipur took the second half confidently and it was Kiranbala who banged in the third goal in the 54th minute before Babysana sealed the game 4-0 with a powerful strike in the 80th minute.
Manipur will be up against Pondicherry in the next match on November 30 from 2.30 pm.
