State Level Boxing ChampionshipNazimuddin clinches elite men's 48 kg title

IMPHAL, Nov 28 : Nazimuddin of Kakching clinched the elite men's 48 kg category title in the ongoing State Level Boxing Championship.
Nazimuddin defeated Heigrujam Irabot of Imphal West in the final bout staged today to earn the top honour.
Laishram Edison Singh of Imphal West got the elite men's 57 kg title beating Mangte Loya Kom of Chandel in the final today before Shantikumar Laikhuram of Thoubal got the better of Kakching's Leishangthem Boyai Meitei for the 60 kg category title.
Ngangom Reena in the meantime earned the elite women's 48 kg title without breaking a sweat as she got a walkover in the final scheduled against Imphal West's Eliza Devi.
Junior Boys
Thokchom Bishwamitra of Bishnupur and Awungshi Jingo of Ukhrul also cruised to junior boys' titles today.
Th Bishwamitra got the better of Biso Roundkhotinsan Koireng of Kangpokpi in the 48 kg category final bout while Awungshi Jingo beat Huidrom Rishi Mangang in the 46 kg final.
Junior Girls
Mayengbam Sagar Chanu of Bishnupur also laid her hands on the gold medal in the junior girls 48 kg category beating Ningthoujam Kalpana of Thoubal in the final bout today.
Sub-Junior Boys
Winning gold medals in different weight categories of sub-junior boys competition are Laishram Mangansana Singh of Imphal East and Ningthoujam Naocha of Imphal East.
Laishram Mangansana beat Jayrajs Yengkhom in the 55 kg final bout today to claim the gold medal before Naocha beat Thongram Manithoiba of Thoubal in the  40 kg final bout.
Youth Women
Huidrom Griviya of Imphal East and Sanabam Surmala of Bishnupur, also bagged gold medals in youth women's competition.
H Griviya got the better of Toijam Bhumabati of Bishnupur to earn the youth women's 54 kg title while S Surmala overcame Ukhrul's Timreichon Kasomwoshi for the 48 kg title.
