THOUBAL, Dec 2: The week-long prize distribution ceremony for 2nd District Education Excellence Awards 2020 began on Wednesday at ZEO Office Complex, Mini Secretariat Thoubal.
The event organised by District/Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Thoubal was attended by Ahanthem Subhash Singh IAS, DC Thoubal; Arambam Anilkumar, ZEO Thoubal; Dr Y Nokul Singh, CMO Thoubal; Dr Ksh Memcha Devi, District Family Welfare Officer; A Kameshwor, District Social Welfare Officer Thoubal and T Anita Devi, DPO, ICDS Thoubal as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahanthem Subhash Singh expressed his appreciation for the Excellence Awards which honours not only outstanding students but teachers as well.
He also stressed on the need for students to move beyond bookish knowledge and focus on general knowledge and other talents they may possess.
It may be mentioned that a book exhibition and a medical assessment camp for differently abled children aged 6 to 18 is also underway as a part of this event.
